Welcome to Lakota Thunderbird Youth Basketball sign-ups.

  • TBird basketball is open to players who live in the Lakota School District.  Players who live outside the Lakota school district are eligible to signup but must obtain a release waiver from their home district and be acknowledged by both the Thunderbird Organization & Premier (CPYBL) League.
  • Online signups will be open from approximately August 1st until the teams are formed in early October.  An in-person registration and skills assessment will be held approximately on September 16th (Details will be sent and available on the website).  All players are encouraged to attend the skills assessment even if they sign up earlier.  In-person signups allow us to get accurate uniform sizing information for your player and for his/her skills to be assessed to support team draws.
  • NOTE: The main account MUST be created by a responsible adult (at least 21 yrs. old). Players cannot create an account and sign themselves up to play.
  • Coaches are always welcome and encouraged. We are a community-based program and the organization does not run without you! Please register through this form as well, Thank you in advance!
  • We offer Thunderbird recreational teams in grades Boys 1-12 and Girls 1-12.  These teams pay $160 (due at signups).  They practice once per week and play a 10-game regular season and a post-season tournament.
  • ***PLEASE NOTE*** High School Boys 9-12 will participate in the In-House League. Fees per player are $125
  • *** PLEASE NOTE *** The Boys 1-2 division will accept signups from players in kindergarten.  All boys in grades 1-2 will be placed on a team. However, Kindergarten boys signing up for this division are not guaranteed a spot. Kindergartners will be placed on a team if there are spaces available. If your child is not placed on a team, a refund will be issued.
  • We have Thunderbird Flight “Select” Teams in grades Boys 3-8 and Girls 3-6.  You need to attend extra tryouts for these teams (see the Tbird webpage for dates and times).  The best players will be selected.  You will pay $160 at signup PLUS an additional fee to cover the 2nd league, a 2nd practice each week, and team training, if you make the team.  The additional fee will be due by the end of October.  You will need to acknowledge that you understand there are additional fees.  If you do not make the select team, you have the option to get put into the regular team draws or get your money refunded.
  • You will be asked to sign a liability
  • Players, Parents, and Coaches need to sign a “Code of Conduct” agreeing to conduct yourselves properly at all times while participating in TBird basketball activities.  Good sportsmanship is expected at all times.  Violations may result in game suspensions or expulsion from the team.
  • Player medical insurance is required to play TBird basketball.  You will be asked for insurance information.
